Same barber. Same prices. Same haircuts. The only thing that changed is that people can now find her, see what she charges and know she's open before they walk down. Sadie's Barbers is made up, by the way — but you'll know a dozen real ones just like the left-hand side.

Who's behind it

A Paisley designer who used to work for big companies.

I'm Gary. I used to be a graphic designer for one of the UK's big studios, working on brands you would know. Now I do the same job for the businesses near my house — the barber, the cafe, the joiner, the lassie doing nails in her back room.

Why is it this cheap? Because I work from home. There's no office, no sales team and no adverts to pay for. The work is the same work. You're just not paying for the building.

I'm in Paisley, PA3. I work all over Renfrewshire — Johnstone, Renfrew, Linwood, Erskine, Elderslie, Bishopton, Bridge of Weir, Kilbarchan and the villages.

And the name? Caoimhe and Lola — my two wee Jack Russell girls. Have a look at the dug up at the top: one side of her face is Lola, ear down; the other side is her sister, ear up. They're my life, so they got the sign above the door.

The things people want to know before they email.

How long does it take?

Get Found is usually live within a week. Get Online usually takes about two weeks. If you need it quicker for an opening or an event, say so and I'll tell you honestly whether it can be done.

Do I need to know anything about computers?

No. Send me an email with the name of your business and what you do, and I'll handle the rest. If you can send a photo from your phone, that's plenty.

What if I don't like it?

Changes are free until you're happy. Nothing goes live until you say so, and you don't pay until then either.

Do I own the website?

Yes. The web address is registered in your name and the website is yours. If you ever want to move it somewhere else, I'll help you shift it rather than hold onto it.

What happens if I stop the £18 a month?

You keep the website and the web address. You'd just need to cover the hosting and renewals yourself, and I'll help you hand it over. There's no contract and no leaving fee.

Do you only work in Paisley?

I'm based in Paisley and work right across Renfrewshire — Renfrew, Johnstone, Linwood, Erskine, Elderslie, Bishopton, Bridge of Weir, Kilbarchan and the villages. Further afield is fine too; it's all done by email anyway.

What about photos of my business?

Photos from your phone are usually fine, and good ones of your actual place beat stock photos every time. I'll tell you what to take and tidy them up at this end.
